Welcome to my occasional newsletter.You are receiving this because you have met me for a reading, chat or attended one of my talks, lectures or workshops. At the time, you gave me your email willingly, but if you've changed your mind, just 'unsubscribe' at the top of the page and I'll leave you to get on with your life. If you would like to continue then rest assured I am not going to deluge you with regular propaganda or calls to action - that'll just get tedious for both of us. However, when there's something to say, I'll write to you and you can make up your own mind about it. First off, my initial attempt on You Tube. What's Going On with Barack Obama?

To understand the measure and potential of the man we might start by reminding ourselves that he is only human. That's certainly an improvement from the 'barely human' George Bush, but we should accept that Obama will make mistakes, some of them big. The sign of greatness will be if he recognises and learns from those mistakes.

He was born on 4th August 1961 and that makes his key Numerology energies 2, 3, 4 and 6. The full analysis can be requested here, but in short there are positives and negatives at every turn. He is a natural diplomat and peace-maker and will seek the middle road, always. He is not an extremist, but will be surrounded and advised by some very dubious people, many of whom will have dominant personalities. He is a natural communicator (doh, obvious!) but needs to watch out for those that will cast him as all talk and no action. He will have a hard job living up to his own words, and disappointment may result. He will apply himself systematically to the jobs in hand. He is patient and resourceful and will like evidence based decisions. A family man, he will resent the intrusions that the office of President brings and woe betides any reporter who crosses the line with his family. In policy matters he must avoid the temptation to shortcut and bend the rules. Again we come back to his advisors. They are a dubious bunch indeed so if President Obama wants to really get things done he'll have to be his own man.

He is not a radical, he is a conservative with a small 'c'. He cares for others but has much to learn himself. We ought to wish him well, but not be too disappointed if the change he promised takes some time to materialise. The Numerology of his opponents is unfavourable, so barring disaster, Obama ought to be in office until 2016. But bear in mind that every single President of modern times has faced an unforeseen disaster. Indeed, it's the nature of Life. The test will be how he copes with that.

His campaign message was 'Yes We Can'. Let's take him at his word and not wait for government to improve matters, for otherwise we might wait forever. Let's start, in our own unique and unrivalled way, to make a difference right now. Take your life into your own hands. Follow your interests, for they always reveal your talents, pursue your dreams, and start to find the task that only you can do.
