The concept
of abundance states that there is enough of everything that you need.
The key
word there of course, is
need.
There is
enough love, money, happiness, oil, coal, medicine, food and water to go around, even though the
greatest lie of our age continues to be perpetuated.
Economics,
the science upon which the very core of our earthly society rests, is the
study of scarcity and the attempt to find solutions to the apparent problem
that there is not enough of any one thing to go around.
But, by
embracing the concept of abundance, we see how wrong headed Economics really
is. (Given this
should be really be surprised that groups of men in suits sat around in board
rooms and managed to wreck the global banking system?)
In order
for abundance to be appreciated fully then we must also look at the purpose of
our life. We each have a job to do, totally unique to us, and we will discover
all the tools with which to perform that task. If we can access our intuitive
capabilities then we will always be guided to where the next phase of our personal
growth should be. Therefore any search for more than we each need to achieve our
fulfillment is greed, which stems from fear.
But my
needs are different to yours, with very little common ground. To fulfill my life task
I may need to be of modest means, but to fulfill your life task, you may need to be rich.
The value of being financially rich or poor (assuming that you have enough to
eat) is completely personal. One person’s well stocked bank account may well be
another person’s ball and chain. Any
excess will cause imbalance and move you further away from your intended goal.
So what do we really need:
Financial
needs
Income – to
pay bills. Savings –
to cover the unexpected. Extra – for
the occasional indulgence
Physical
needs
Warmth,
shelter, protection from interference by others, a wide variety of fresh food.
Emotional
needs
Love, warmth,
connection, balance.
Spiritual needs
Your guide
and the Inner World
When you
have all these things then you are rich indeed!
Look at
Richard Branson, Alan Sugar and Bill Gates. They all thought that having
millions in the bank would bring them happiness and fulfillment. They now see that
other things matter too.
A final thought. Mother Nature is bountiful in her provisions to us, everything we would ever need occurs naturally. But there is Summer and Winter, growth and death. This is the nature of life, even the nature of abundance. It is we who are out of step with the natural way of things and that must be corrected if are to prosper. In nature, we must take the rough with the smooth.
