If you have read some of the other pages on this site you might be forgiven for thinking that it's all so easy!
Real development, real progress and real change requires patience, commitment and hard work.
There's no getting away from that.
It also requires a capacity for learning, beyond what you get from reading books and attending courses.
Any book that you read will contain some truth, some fiction and some downright nonsense.
Any course or workshop that you attend will be the same.
No exceptions.
It's like that because books and courses are only the opinion of the author, whatever they dress it up as.
Development and learning requires trial and error, mistakes and adjustment.
It requires that we admit - at least to ourselves - that sometimes we get it wrong.
The culture in our twenty-first century society is backward beyond belief.
Those that make public mistakes are held up as little better than murderers, and this culture is strangling the only form of progress that ever existed - human beings trying out new stuff.
It is absolutely essential to listen to others, try it out for yourself and then come to your own conclusion.
No one person or organisation possesses 'the whole truth' and believing that they do is the road to hell.
To achieve true Self Mastery you must first recognise that you have one mortal enemy, one person who will fight tooth and nail to prevent your progress, your growth and your development.
And that person is you.
It's the same for everyone, please don't feel picked on.
It's not fair, but it's the way it is, and surely it's better to recognise the truth and begin to do something about it, than live in ignorance?
Maybe another name for ignorance should be darkness?
